Right: Steve Gardener gets a visit for manager Mark Addy as he battles with a fiesty perch of around 14ozs. And he's still there (below) when Steve gets a much smaller one.These perch came on the slider line fished off bottom.

Above: Des Shipp had a great Friday session and can consider himself unlucky not to fish the weekend especially when he can winkle out fish these during hard conditions (right)!

Above: The Italians start their preparation for the final days practice and they came armed with 8/9m Bolo rods, which really weren't the right tools for the job in hand as they looked cumbersome and unwieldy to cast and not to mention the fact that in a slight breeze the line would bow and pull the top and bottom rigged float off line.
