Practice day one (Mon):
Not really much to tell just yet
the weathers sunny and hot, a complete contrast to past weeks'. The venue as expected is flowing hard from previous downpours and there's just the odd bream being caught. The early pegs seem to be fishing best at moment, but this likely to change as week progresses.
Practice day two (Tues):
More bream now starting to show, barbel still patchy. Weather continues to be hot with a strong flow on the channel. Poland doing well in these early sessions.
Practice day three (Wed):
The weather is persistently very hot. England have picked up the pace and have joined Poland in catching well. Unfortunately it looks as if Belgium, Hungary and France still have some work to do sorting it out, but theres still time. The next two days should sort out the favourites for the weekend.
Practice day four (Thurs):
Weather still incredibly hot. Fishing becoming more difficult Channel continues to flow. England doing OK, rest uncertain! Final practice tomorrow so may have more details.
Practice day five (Friday):
Belgium had a good last days practice but it seems that the draw is likely to play a major part in the weekends outcome. There have been fish caught, but it's been peggy and therefore difficult for some teams to formalise their strategies in these conditions. Unfortunately not selected to fish first days match... perhaps Sunday... maybe!
I'll be sending brief results through as soon as I know on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and hopefully followed by the complete official sheets as soon as I can get them at the end.
First Day (Saturday):
The shattering news at the moment is that 4x World Champion Alan Scotthorne finished down his section in 23rd place, Alan apparently drew the bad end of the section, and boy, it must have been bad! England however seem to have done OK. Darren Frost of Wales secures a precious section win for his country. We'll try to bring you more as we get it from Mark in Slovakia.
Just heard
England lying in first place with Poland in second
thats all for now.
