Hello and welcome
First of all let me say what a pleasure it is (if not a little daunting) to be asked to do this job as I live and breath angling, especially match angling... from the endless hours spent in match preparation and practice to thinking about the tactics and techniques that are needed in order to do well and stay consistently at the top of the ladder. I hope you will therefore find this section of interest, especially during the lead up to September's big event. I trust you will also be able to pick up the odd tip or two which may help you in your own particular form of fishing.
Over the coming months I will endeavour to cover, in detail, all sorts of topics from Belgium, such as leams and soils, bloodworm and joker, groundbaiting techniques, venue reports, equipment reviews, match reports and some exclusive interviews and, hopefully, days' out with top local match anglers. But as the World Championships is the biggest thing happening here this year I thought I'd start by taking a closer look at a number of aspects of the competition... the venue, local facilities (inc. accommodation), anglers/teams, baits, rules & regulations and my own thoughts on the teams which I believe will battle out the top placings.
