The 2006 European Championships saw Belgium deliver a killier blow to runaway first day leaders France, with a stunning display on the final day in Rieux, France. Pulling back a 16pt deficit Belgium crushed all opposition and their reigning World Champion Guido Nullens, achieved what no one else as ever done... hold both titles at the same time. Belgium also completed their dominance by occupying all three top individual places! England sank to 8th place on day one, but came back strong to take the Bronze medal position
We shall be bringing you, over the next few weeks, an overview and pictorial account of the weekend, but this will take time as there are hundreds of photos to sort through so please be patient.

A stunning last day performance by Italy saw them take the Bronze medal position but it was Poland, following on from a first day second place, who stole the show and England’s crown to go one better than their silver place here behind Hungary in the 2003 World Championships. Drennan Team England fortunes where mixed. The loss of their European crown would have hurt but there was consolation with Will Raison’s Individual Gold, which I’m sure he would have gladly traded for a team one, such is the spirit in the England squad. Germany put in a solid performance on both days to gain a valuable fourth place, which would have pleased them greatly, especially as they pushed their neighbours, France, into fifth place.
Shock of the tournament must be
Hungary’s absence from a top five placing, especially on a venue which they blitzed in the 2003 World Championships. Even their 2004 World Champion, Tamas Walter, found precious little luck on day two and finished away from the podium.
We'll try to bring you some pictures and full results sheets when we get them... hopefully within the next few day's!

No surprises on day one of the Six Nations in Scotland with the big three carving up the points. What is surprising is Scotland's performance on it's home waters. With the exception of Jamie Masson the rest of the squad languished down the sections on a day which saw mainly small fish being taken up-in-the-water along with a few carp and skimmers. Scotland will no doubt have a very serious post mortem this evening. For results ... click
