Location:
Uherské Hradiště is a major centre in south-east Moravia, near the border with the Slovak Republic. It is located in a lowland surrounded by the Chřiby Hills on the western part and the peaks of the White Carpathian mountains to the east. The River Morava has a typical lowland character with a relatively undisturbed, but strong flow throughout, ideally suited to powerful river fish like bream, barbel and catfish. The width of the river is approximately 50-60m and all the sections for the championship are situated on the left bank. Depths vary between 3 and 4m and the bottom is mainly gravel or sand, only near the banks will you find some mud/silt. The banks themselves are inlaid with quarry rock, covered by soil down to the waters edge. The grass banks slope upward at an angle of approximately 30 degrees to a pathway and tree-lined barrier with an access road behind which is suitable for transport up to small truck size.

All the sections are situated along long sweeping bends of the river and the distance between the competitors in section A and section E is almost 5km. The sections begin above the weir in Staré Město and pass through the forest park to the railway bridge. The sections A, B and C will be placed there. Section D will be about 500m above the road bridge followed by section E.
All sections, as described above, have been accredited and comply with the international rules of F.I.P.S.e.d.

Because the sections are situated in an area of river above the weir at Staré Město and below the weir at the village Spytihněv, it will be possible to control the flow and the water level of the river during the championship.
