Poznan, Poland. 12-13th June 2010.

Eastern Europe is the home to many match fishing fanatics and has thousands of miles of untapped rivers, canals and lakes for them to fish. Poland, like many of it's surrounding neighbours, has always maintained a strong presence in European and World competitions and this particular event will be a taste of 'things to come' for them, as the European Championships are due to be held there in 2012.

The venue for the WCC will be on the powerful River Warta, which runs through the city of Poznan in the eastern part of the country. Matchangler's long-time friend, Tomasz (Tomek) Horemski, is one of the main organisers of the event and has developed a site containing loads of pictures and information. We have links below to all the relevant sites and contact details for those teams requiring further information. Tomek, who also runs the biggest tackle shop in the city, with a full bait supply and service, will be on hand to help any competitor/team with information such as accommodation, conditions etc, etc. He also has immense experience on the river, having completed nearly 250 competitions there, so his advice will be much sought after.

Tomek will also be completing an article for Matchangler in a few months time, about fishing big Cralusso's on the venue, so watch out for this. We will also carry the results, or links, to 3 of the matches prior to the main competition.

If past results on the venue are anything to go by, then the Championships will produce some spectacular results.

The new venue chosen is the Malta Rowing Course in Poznan, and more details can be found via the links below.

Some of the captions are in Polish, but if you have any questions, then Tomek's English is pretty good.... much better than my Polish!!!
